Advance Q10

Co-Enzyme Q10 is an essential vitamin-like substance found in every cell of your body. It works as a key catalyst in the production of energy within your cells. If your levels of Q10 start dropping so does your general health. Scientists investigating the role of Q10 in human biochemistry have estimated that once the body levels of Q10 become more than 25 per cent deficient many disease states start to flourish. These can range from high blood pressure and heart attacks to deficiencies of the immune system.

Q10 and Mitochondria relationship

Mitochondria are found within all cells of our bodies, they are responsible for the majority of energy production within the cell. The more numbers of mitochondria and greater efficiency of mitochondria within cells then the more energy a cell can produce. Large numbers of mitochondria are found in the cells that require the greatest amount of energy to operate e.g. Heart and liver.

More mitochondria numbers means more toxic free energy for the cellular energy pool is possible. For mitochondria to increase their potential intra cellular numbers they must be supplied with ample Q10. More Q10 supplied to cells equates to more low toxic energy production capacity and as a consequence healthier mitochondria and cellular environments.

For most individuals, particularly accentuated by the ageing factor, Q10 supplementation can more than double their normal access to low toxic energy output. This lowers the dependence on sugar/glucose burning and has a consequential reduction in free radical damage to the internal cell structures.

Uses of Q10

Because Q10 is found everywhere in your body supplementation benefits are widespread. Higher concentrations of Q10 are found in the heart, kidney, liver, muscle, pancreas and thyroid. If you are deficient in Q10 you will be likely to be suffering from some form of disease or weakness associated with these organs/muscles. The heart uses approximately 30% of the bodies Q10 supply and therefore many cardiologists recommend Q10 supplementation. Research indicates that the use of cholesterol lowering medication (statins) reduces your body's production of Q10 by up to 50%, depending on the strength of the medication, making Q10 supplementation critical. Sports people benefit greatly from Q10 as a result of more efficient energy production occurring.

Which Q10?

There are several different types of Q10 available. There is synthetic or semi-synthetic derived Q10, which is commonly produced by either chemical extraction from tobacco leaves or laboratory mixed vitamins, minerals and amino acids. The best Q10 available is the naturally fermented version that is algae derived and allows the sun's power to energise the structure of the Q10.

It is important to use a Q10 in a good base, and the most stable base is in a dry powdered form, such as phosphates. Energy is termed as ATP - Adenosine triphosphate (3 phosphates) and the more phosphates you have available then the more energy (ATP) able to be generated.

John O'Neill's Advanced Life Products Q10 is sourced from naturally fermented Q10 and is in a magnesium/potassium/calcium phosphate base.
