Estrogen is a principal hormone in regard to regulating body mass in both males and females and has a significant impact on body fat deposition.
There are three metabolites of estrogen E1, E2 and E3. Of these E2 (oestradiol) has the most potent action on the body. In females the estrogen is mostly regulated via liver metabolism whereas in males estrogen is converted from testosterone in fatty tissue.
The common signs and symptoms of excess estrogen can be a build up of fat and fluid in:
- Hips, buttocks, thighs, breast tissue, back of arms, love handles, lower back
- poor muscle mass & definition via excessive subcutaneous and intramuscular fat
Other symptoms may be:
Increased worry, exaggerated stress (harder to switch off), poor short term memory, sugar & chocolate cravings, mood swings, headaches, poor circulation, bloated abdomen, fluid retention poor blood sugar control, cellulite & obesity.
In females period problems, thrush, urinary tract infections may also be part of the issue
Environmental estrogens present in plastics, pesticides and pollution can also be ingested and increase the body’s total estrogen levels.
Quite often with excessive estrogen we see a vicious cycle of excess fat deposition and an increase in estrogen dominance. In order to break this cycle we need a down regulation of estrogen metabolism and an increase in estrogen clearance from the body.
ATP Science has created ALPHA VENUS, a new product suitable for both male and female users that specifically helps clear estrogen from the body lowering the total estrogen count.
This may help to improve natural testosterone levels aiding the loss of body fat and increasing lean muscle mass. So as well as considering a stimulant based product to help shed the excess fat and fluid particularly, from the holidays, consider improving your hormonal balance to return to leaner more defined you.
