    • Benefits of Herbal Teas

      Tea is not only an aromatic beverage prepared by pouring boiling hot water over a tea bag or dried leaves of herbs. When combined with different herbs and spices, herbal tea may aid in the healing process of many illnesses. For example, peppermint leaves can provide relief to a variety of ailments such as stomach discomfort, irritable bowel syndrome, hay fever, headaches, nausea and many more.

      Green tea is loaded with flavonoids and other polyphenols that work as an antioxidant reducing the risk of metabolic syndrome, cancer and heart diseases. Green tea also boosts metabolism to target fat stores and assists in weight loss.

       

      Benefits of common herbal teas:

      Lemon balm: Carminative - useful for stress & anxiety.

      Dandelion: Liver cleanser & detoxifier. Dandelion has a similar taste to coffee so why not substitute?

      Preparation of iced tea:

      • Infuse 1-2 tea bags in hot water, add 1 teaspoon of Stevia or Xylitol
      • Allow the tea bag to steep for at least 30mins at room temperature
      • Remove tea bag add ice and slices of lemon and fresh mint (if desired).
